I hope to inspire more women to embrace their own pain so they too can heal, find wholeness, and walk in their power.

Meet Sandra, Founder & Chief Inner Journey Officer

Several years ago, Healing Is The New Sexy’s founder, Sandra, found herself standing at a crossroads in life, grappling with big existential questions like, “who am I?” and “why am I here?” This marked a profound turning point that set her on a transformative journey of self-discovery. In the depths of her own healing, she unearthed her purpose – a calling to create a nurturing haven for the pursuit of Being.

A place that empowers women to rediscover their true selves, fostering an environment where transparency and candid conversations flourish. Here, women could address the common yet often concealed struggles they face – those daunting challenges they’re either reluctant to discuss or unsure how to surmount. Sandra’s journey became the driving force behind Healing Is The New Sexy®, a platform dedicated to championing the inner well-being and personal transformation of women seeking growth & empowerment. Hello there! I'm Sandra, and this is my story

I embarked on my healing journey in 2019, teetering on the brink of despair. Life felt like a never-ending labyrinth, with dissatisfaction seeping into every corner. It was as if my soul yearned for something more profound, something beyond the realm of my current existence.

Over two and a half years had passed since my divorce, and I found myself trapped in a career as a lawyer that left me feeling constrained. I grappled with challenges in my relationships and love life, and my dreams, buried under layers of fear, begged to be unearthed. Physically and emotionally, I felt like I was crumbling. I needed a drastic change, a reconnection with the essence of who I was.

In the twilight of 2019, I knew that I could no longer ignore the call to steer my life back on course. My soul yearned for me to take the wheel. To regain control of my life, I ventured into the realms of therapy, radical self-care, and profound self-reflection, often pouring my thoughts and emotions onto paper.

This process led me to revisit painful chapters of my past – my father’s passing, a painful divorce, the initial failure of the bar exam, the unraveling of friendships and relationships, and the sale of my first home.

These were the scars that had etched themselves into the canvas of my life. To move forward, I needed to unpack the impact of these experiences on my self-image and my perception of the world.

An urge tugged at my heart, compelling me to share my journey. Yet, I faced a relentless internal battle. My upbringing had instilled the belief that one should never “air their dirty laundry” or admit to vulnerabilities. Emotions, therapy, mental health, and wellness were topics kept in the shadows.

However, despite the resistance, I decided to share my odyssey through a personal blog. The responses poured in, from women who, like me, were fighting silent battles, searching for healing, and striving to embrace self-love.

Pain To Purpose

I soon realized that countless women, who bore a striking resemblance to me, were silently suffering. They grappled with pain, unhappiness, or unfulfillment in various facets of their lives. Lacking a support system, they were unable to embark on the vital inner journey necessary for their liberation.

It was then that a profound conviction arose within me – the need to create a space that would introduce women to fresh perspectives, providing them with trustworthy inner well-being information, tools, and resources. They could use these to discard outdated paradigms and value systems that no longer served them. In their place, they would craft a new internal value system, one that laid the foundation for a life aligned with their truest selves.

My collective pain transformed into my source of strength, becoming the catalyst behind Healing Is The New Sexy®. My deepest hope is to inspire women to confront their own pain, to heal, to become whole, and to embrace their innate power to transform themselves and their lives.

To be alive is to be in a perpetual state of revolution. Whether I like it or not, pain is the fuel of revolution. Everything I need to become the woman I’m meant to be next is inside my feelings of now. Life is alchemy, and emotions are the fire that turns me to gold.
